    Actually, it would have been better if the hands on the fingers also had hands on their fingers and so on - fractal in other words.

    the number of digits would be 5^n (where n is number of hand's hands) right... so after ten hand children - there'd be nearly ten million digits!!!

    Expo-growth and all that! But because the digits are exponentially decaying the actually reach of the hand of hands moves toward a finite limit!

    where x is width of original finger

    Total span = x*(1 + f + f^2 + f^3...)

    Where x is span of initial hand and f is the decay factor and is <1

    (Run it past big Bro!)

    I'm sure we did something similar in first year maths A level... and we worked with fractals in computing in upper sixth! :p
